Worcester’s Render Painting Specialists
Smooth and Fine-Textured Render
Smooth rendered walls are the most common exterior finish on Worcester’s 1930s to 1970s housing stock. Render on this stock typically needs repainting every five to ten years. We also offer dedicated conservatory painting services.
We prepare the surface first — washing, treating biological growth, and filling hairline cracks — before applying breathable masonry paint in two coats. We also offer dedicated masonry painting services.
Hairline Cracks and Surface Repairs
Render develops hairline cracking over time, particularly at corners and around window reveals. Left unsealed, these cracks allow water ingress that accelerates deterioration.
We inspect the whole surface and fill hairline cracks with exterior filler or flexible sealant. We do not paint over problems.
K-Rend and Polymer Render
K-Rend appears on newer builds throughout Worcestershire. These thin-coat systems can be painted when fading becomes significant. We use coatings that maintain the breathability of the original system.
Lime Render on Period Properties
Properties dating before the 1920s often have lime render. Applying a non-breathable coating traps moisture. We use breathable masonry coatings on all lime render. See our exterior painting and period property painting pages.
Biological Growth Treatment
Algae, lichen, and moss are a persistent issue on rendered walls. We apply a mould treatment wash to all affected surfaces before painting. Growth painted over without treatment pushes the paint off within a season.

Here’s How It Works
1. Surface Assessment
We inspect the render condition — cracking, biological growth, spalling, and any areas requiring repair — before quoting.
2. Pressure Washing
The full surface is washed to remove dirt, algae, and loose material.
3. Mould Treatment
Applied to any areas with biological growth, left to work, then washed off.
4. Crack Filling and Repairs
Hairline cracks are filled with exterior filler or flexible sealant. Larger areas are assessed and resolved.
5. Masking
Windows, doors, sills, and surrounding surfaces are masked.
6. Paint Application
Two coats of breathable masonry paint applied by roller and brush. A primer coat is added on bare or heavily faded surfaces.
